At Motivated Minds, the safety and wellbeing of our participants, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. We are dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and secure. What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding means protecting people from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It means taking action to promote the health, wellbeing, and human rights of individuals, enabling them to live safely, free from harm.

Safeguarding involves:

  • Protecting people from maltreatment and abuse

  • Preventing harm to health or development

  • Ensuring people grow up or live in safe and supportive circumstances

  • Taking action to enable everyone to have the best outcomes

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. It applies to children, young people, and adults who may be at risk.

What safeguarding is NOT: Safeguarding is not about being overprotective or limiting people's freedom. It's about creating safe environments while respecting dignity, choice, and independence.
